The River Shack Menu

All the top chefs seem to be constantly raving about trying to use fresh & local. We see this as common sense when you consider the quality of our local produce here in the South West, but also we want to help support our small local producers & be part of our community.

Our cider and ‘award winning’ apple juice is made in Stoke Gabriel from Parish apples, and elderflower cordial is made from elderflowers grown in the local hedgerows. Our beer is brewed some 2 miles away at Bays Brewery. Our wine list spans vineyards across the River Dart at Sharpham to the other side of the world!    

 Our unique Tregothnan’s loose leaf tea is grown in Cornwall. It is the only tea grown in Britain and is something special.  Unfortunately, the Devon climate isn’t quite hot enough for us to grow our own coffee beans so we use ‘Origin Coffee’ who gather some of the worlds’ finest beans, then roast & blend them here in the South West.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   The historic & busy fishing port of Brixham is just down the road and is where we source our crab from. We use  local butchers for their finest steak burgers, sausages & bacon. 

Our cakes & scones are home-made, fresh every day, and our Organic made on the farm ice cream company ‘Marshfields’ offers indulgent ice-cream made with real clotted-cream, here in the South West.

In terms of our Lunch Menu, we offer a delicious range of ciabattas, sandwiches, salads, homemade soups and other light bites- all freshly prepared.

We are open 4 nights a week at present……………
On the Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday we are open 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
Offering a selection of fresh, made to order, thin-crust pizzas from our stone based pizza oven.
 Complimented by a selection of sides & our licensed bar.
On the Friday, again 5.30pm to 8.30pm, we offer our River Shack BBQ, again cooked to order by the side of the millpond.
Fresh, local, quality burgers & sausages from our local butcher.
