Crabbing
Where?
Definitely one of Devon's crabbing hotspots.
Snuggled between the River Dart and a tranquil mill pool, you will always find a place to crab,
either along the shore of the mill pool, along the quay or on the dam itself. There are
definite crabby hotspots though and the dam is one of the favourite places,
the very hottest are closely guarded secrets. Come and find out for yourself
where they are!
When?
Crabs can be caught virtually all year round but we think it is much more fun in the sun.
How?
In the interest of child and wildlife safety we recommend a hook free crab
line, a net tied to the line and filled with bait catches more crabs than a
hook too. You are welcome to try different baits.
If you don't have your own equipment we sell crablines, nets , buckets and
bait in the cafe.
