Welcome to the River Shack!
Sandwiched between the beautiful River Dart and
a magnificent Mill Pool
located in the
sleepy village of Stoke Gabriel nuzzled deep in the South Devon countryside,
we are lucky to be blessed with a stunning location.
Lexi and Tim offer a variety of top quality local food and drinks to people
who frequent the quay to enjoy one of a whole range of activities available.
Sitting back and enjoying the view is extremely popular, as is crabbing and this is a real crabbing hotspot.
Situated on the River Shack is the local village weather station. Click here for the latest readings and past information.

Evening food and fine dining!
|
As well as our daytime menu we offer evening food on a Friday night.
Across the summer we barbecue on Friday evenings, using only the best local produce the banks of the River Dart provide the idyllic setting to complement the food.
When the summer barbecues end we take the evening food inside*. Simon Rothwell does the cooking where he uses his vast experience to produce beautiful
food from the great local ingredients found literally on our doorstep.
Bookings are essential as numbers are limited.
for our sample menu, although this will change from week to week, depending on what produce we can source locally.
We are also available for private parties.
(Unfortunately we are currently unable to accept cards, cash and cheques only please).
We look forward to seeing you!
* From March 2008

Great fun for all the family. Often three generations of one family can be spotted frantically pulling in crabs! The quay at Stoke Gabriel offers a safe and scenic venue for catching lots and lots of crabs.

All the top chefs are currently raving about using local produce wherever
possible and considering the quality of our local produce it would be madness for us not to use the
array of excellent food and drink provided in the south west.
